Metadata

Metadata provide an overview of what spatial data is collected in Estonia, who manages it, what the data contains, whether there are restrictions to the access and use of the data, what are the data services, etc. Metadata is managed in the spatial data catalogue.

Using the spatial data catalog, you can browse, search, share and download metadata (XML, RDF, or PDF). All data owners in Estonia are welcome to enter and manage the metadata for their spatial data sets and services in spatial data catalogue metadata database.

Metadata is managed in XML format (ISO/TS 19139: 2007 Geographic information - Metadata - XML schema implementation).
